Organize your thread! Tired of digging through tubs or boxes to find the color you need? These thread storage trays will keep your thread neat and organized in the Ikea Alex 5-drawer unit. Please see link below for exact Alex unit. We have various sets to fit different size spools.
Generic set - will fit spools with a base diameter of 1.80" (spools such as Isacord, Floriani, Glide, Brother, Hemingworth and many other name brands) Each tray holds 25 spools - 50 spools total for set
Aurifil set - will fit the Aurifil 50wt 1422 yd spools with a base diameter of 1.28". Each tray holds 56 spools - 112 spools total for set
Madeira/Coats & Clark/King Tut set - will fit spools with a base diameter of 1.50". Each tray holds 42 spools - 84 spools total for set
Kingstar Metallic set - will fit the Kingstar metallic spools with a base diameter of 1.93". Each tray holds 20 spools - 40 spools total for set
Serger cone set - will fit serger cones with a base diameter of 1.53". Each tray holds 20 spools - 40 spools total for set. These cones only fit in bottom three drawers of this unit.
King spools tray - this tray will fit king spools with a base diameter of 2.98". This is one tray to fit the entire drawer. This tray will hold 22 spools. These spools only fit in the bottom three drawers of this unit.
Mix & Match set - select 2 trays to fit one drawer. Can mix & match trays to fit different size spools. Excludes the King spool tray. Write which two trays you would like in the comment section of your order.
Each set will include two trays that will fit one drawer in the Alex unit (except King spool set that is one tray to fit entire drawer). If you are wanting to store thread in multiple drawers, please order the number of sets for the number of drawers you want to fill (ie: if you are wanting to fill all 5 drawers, order 5 sets). Dimensions of each tray are 10.25"L x 11.50"W x .375"H (except for King Spool tray) King spool tray dimensions are 20.50"L x 11.50"W x .375"H. As with all wood, there could possibly be knots and small flaws in the grain. We do our best to only use wood with the least amount of flaws; however, we cannot guarantee the wood to be flaw-free. This will not affect the purpose of the trays. Thread and cart not included (for photo purposes only) ***PATENT PENDING***
Note: please be aware that the drawers on the Alex units do not open all the way to reach to the back. This might make it where you cannot reach your thread on the last couple of rows without removing the trays. We are trying to figure out a solution - we are checking to see if there is a clip on the drawer slide to enable them to open further. We will continue to include spaces for thread on the last couple of rows because it is storage space.
